What players love

Gunplay and sound design keep long-haul fans locked in, with the Runner Shell system and map design repeatedly praised as the best in the genre.

"Never thought I'd play an extraction shooter, but I decided to try Marathon because of the aesthetics and art direction of the game. Turns out it's a lot of fun to play; the gunplay and movement is so polished and slick. It makes for a very cohesive experience between art and gameplay."

"It's easy to allow the experience of hunting and being hunted to distract you from the beautiful and fascinating environments in this game."

What frustrates them

Cheating and lobby disconnects have plagued high-hour players, while skill/equipment disparity plus a shrinking playerbase squeeze casuals out.

"good till all the "bad" players like me are gone. now its just a slog full of sweats and only sweats. no room for the casual gamer here. art direction, music, and gameplay are all golden unfortunately. pve, ssbm, or aggression based matchmaking would bring me back."

"Sony is where intellectual property goes to die. Don't invest another cent into this slop before Bungie and Sony management get their act together. RIP Destiny. Make Destiny 3."
