Player voice · Dying Light: The Beast
The patterns long-haul reviewers keep returning to.
What players love
Beast Mode's brutal strength-spree is the obvious highlight, letting Crane tear through hordes with a ferocity that feels like DL1 turned up to eleven.

"just solo and smashing zombies and running around with parkour freedom is pretty cool I hear it's not as big previous games, but I'm on my third new game plus trying to get legendary levels, the scale of it does work nicely"

"pretty solid sequel, easily better than DL2, and runs well enough on my dinosaur while still looking good. really wish it had crossplay though."

"I really enjoyed The Beast and thought it was an improvement over Dying Light 2. The game brought back a lot of what made the original Dying Light so much fun while still adding a new world that feels immersive."

What frustrates them
The dodge mechanic's unreliability and forced weapon-slot swaps during cutscenes keep tripping up even veteran parkour players.

"I really like The Beast, it's my favorite Dying Light game. But Techland revealing that they are willing to cut content out of these games to turn them into Microtransaction farms has killed all my desire to ever engage with one of their games again."

"40$ is the most you should spend on this or its a rip off. if you want the story go watch it for free. 1. map is small 2. the story is short 3. cut content is everywhere from the weapons to the map. 4. it feels like a Temu clone of the first game but they cut 2/3 the content from it."

"it just amazes me that, dying light 1 is still objectively better than both of its successors. Nothing will ever be able to recreate the original's mastery."
